信就是所望之(甚麼)的實底，是(不)見之(甚麼)的確據，古人在這信上得了美好的(嘉許)。  論到獲神嘉許的信，保羅的希伯來書第11章是權威的經文。

神嘉許的信，是確信予那看不見的(甚麼)。  那不見的(甚麼)就是我們的神，或引申至祂的旨意，話語和應許。  總而然之確信的對象是神，不是人、不是祈望發生的事，或希望得到之物。

神嘉許的信，如希伯來書中神所提及前人們的例子，是帶有得神喜悅作為的信靠。  信心沒有作為是死的。  若信心要得著神的嘉許，需要加上從信心帶出的作為。 當然信心加上與信無關的作為，是另一回事。

神嘉許信心，並不表示我們一定得到神應許的事或物，包括心裡所想所(信)。  但神會賜與更美好的，超過我們心裡所想所求。

Scripture Teaching:

Faith is being sure of (what) we hope for, and certain of (what) we do not see.  This is what the ancients were commended for.  Talking about God commended faith, chapter 11 of the epistle by Paul to the Hebrews, are the paramount verses with authority.

The faith commended by our God, is the convicted faith on (what) not seen.  The (what) is our God, extending further to include His will, words and promises, not particular persons; events expected to realize or objects wished to possessed.

Faith commended by God, like that of many ancestors God picked up as example, is faith with acts pleasing to God.  Faith without act is dead.  Faith commended by God is faith with God-pleasing act out of faith.  In another word, act out of faith is required for faith to be commended by God.  Faith with act not out of faith is a different issue.

When God commend faith, it does not necessary mean we will receive what God promised.  But God will give something better, exceeding what we expect or ask for in our hearts.
